John W. Spears was born and raised in Lisman, Alabama on his grandmother's farm. On the farm there was a huge lake where he and his cousins went boating, swimming, fishing and duck hunting. His humble beginnings included working on the farm daily. During that time, he attained his high school diploma from Chactow County School.
After graduation at age 19, John W. Spears was drafted into the U.S. Army where he served two years. Basic Training was completed at Camp Gorton, Georgia. Then he attended Signal Corp School for a ten week course on generating electricity. Immediately following, he was shipped to Ft. Knox, Kentucky for three months. Following that, he was shipped to Ft. Louis, Washington to go over seas. He then spent one year in Tokoyo, Japan. After his service in Japan, he returned to the United States and was discharged on January 14, 1956.
John found employment with the Pennsylvania Rail Road, which later became New York Central Rail Road, and eventually Conrail Rail Road. His lengthy career lasted 38 years. During that time, he was married in 1960. John has two children, daughter Devirge, and a son John John (named after John). He retired from Conrail Rail Road in 1996.
God came into John's life in 1974, and he has been serving God ever since as a born-again Christian. His ministry over the years included teaching Sunday school, having a prison ministry, and writing, which remains a passion of John's. These writings will encourage and help guide readers to solve their problems and have a closer walk with God.

I am a Korean War Vet on a very special mission.
My grandmother Lilly Rainey passed away at the age of 100 in June, 1991. About a month after she passed, her house fell in and was destroyed. She raised me until I was 19-years-old when I went into the US Army. It has always been a dream of mine to rebuild the homestead. Unfortunately, I can’t afford to do so on my own and would be grateful if you generously contributed to the effort. I am getting on in years and would like to restore my family's homestead ASAP to leave a living legacy for our future generations. Will you please help me rebuild her house by sending a donation?
You can donate through my Go Fund Me page:
